WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? PT. 5 Colossians 3:13-15 NLT 13 Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. 15 And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. 14 Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. MSG 14 And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it. *Important principle….peace that comes from Christ We are told to clothe ourselves….Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience…..today…..above all these things….clothe ourselves in love….. Doesn’t say clothe yourselves in peace… or put on peace… OUR PEACE COMES FROM CHRIST… you and I can never manufacture something that only comes from Jesus! THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF ‘PEACE‘ Shalom’ – Completeness, wholeness, health, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, fullness, rest, harmony; the absence of agitation or discord. 1—HE IS OUR SOURCE OF PEACE John 14:27 NKJV 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. 2—HE IS OUR RESOURCE FOR PEACE Isaiah 26:3 NKJV 3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. We are CALLED to live in PEACE…….. ALWAYS BE THANKFUL! COMMUNION 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 NIV 23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
